The Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test (HTET) is a state-level entrance examination administered by the Board of School Education, Haryana, Bhiwani. It is organised to assess the candidates’ aptitude and ability to meet the growing challenges of teaching at Secondary, Elementary and Senior Secondary levels.

The HTET 2019 Information Bulletin states, “To ensure that persons recruited as teachers possess the aptitude and ability to meet the challenges of teaching at Elementary, Secondary and Senior Secondarylevels, one of essential qualifications for a person to be eligible for appointment as a teacher in any of the schools recognised by the Department of School Education, Haryana and affiliated by the Board of School Education, Haryana is that he/she should pass the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test.” The entrance test will be conducted in accordance with the guidelines laid down by the National Council for Teacher Education/ Department of School Education, Haryana.

HTET Exam 2019 Pattern

The exam will be held in pen and paper-based mode. All questions in the Haryana Teacher Eligibility Test will be multiple choice questions (MCQs). Each question carries one mark. Candidates will have 4 alternatives out of which they will need to choose one. Level – 1 (Teacher for Class I to V: Primary Teacher)

Nature and Standard of Questions –

It has one paper. The questions will be in objective-types. There will be 150 MCQs. The duration of the exam will be two and a half hours. The languages of the test will be Hindi and English.
